As the thought past through his head, Emmett reached over, his hand in a fist, and gave the wall of these underground caverns a light tap. Not too hard, though, he didn't really wanna dent anything. I mean, he could, but...whatever. It really kinda sucked, bein' down here, he really missed the world above, the clean air, the open fields, the sunlight... But, hey, there wasn't much any of them could really do about it. Not for now, anyway.
Lowering his hand, he gave a slight chuckle, as he took a brief moment to observe it. This freaking...diamond-like encasing they now had. The powers a bunch of them had gotten, the eatin' and sleepin' thing... After all those damn experiments, this place wasn't the only thing that was weird. All of them were, too. Every last one of 'em. It was actually pretty screwed up, every time he stopped to think about it, but...yeah, again, not much to be done about that. There really wasn't a point in worrying about it, in pondering over this situation they were kinda stuck in. Nah...he'd leave that up to people like Eddie and Jasper and the ole' man. They did enough worrying for all of them.
Better not to think too much about it. It wasn't like there weren't perks to all this. Thanks to all that, he was stronger now than he had ever been...stronger than everyone in the coven, actually, even the older ones. That part was actually pretty neat.
And anyway, back in the moment!
After a quick sigh to clear the air, he let an easy smile settle over his expression, hit the switch to open the gates, and then took a quick leap out of the cave, into the open, forested area the lovely scientists had provided for him and his family as a nice spot for hunting grounds. They'd collected all sorts of animals in here, and, as long as they were a bit sparing with 'em, didn't overindulge or anything like that, the spread was pretty diverse. He could have his bears, Eddie could have his mountain lions, and Alice could keep tryin' her hands with them birds. And, you know, the others could do whatever the hell they wanted.
Speaking of which, weren't we all supposed to meet up here? he thought, turning to glance over his shoulder then, back toward the opening, and he crossed his arms in front of him. Slow pokes.
Alice had been following her brother through the halls...well, alright, she was stalking him, more like. Wow...I still can't believe how light I feel! Her steps were completely silent, even she couldn't hear them. It really was an unbelievable experience.
When he stopped in front of the meeting place, the small vampire smiled. Just as quickly as she readied her stance to pounce on him and, hopefully, surprise the guy, her smile faded and she straightened her posture, head slightly tilting to the side as she watched him. He'd raised his fist to give the wall beside him a solid tap. After a moment, she heard a disheartened chuckle escape the tall man a distance away from her. Emmett...? Her brows creased as she observed him further, her lips tugging into a slight frown. He wore an expression you almost never saw on that face. He almost looked...upset. However, almost as quickly as it showed, it vanished as he pumped himself back up. She watched as he leaped into the training grounds before silence befell the halls around her.
With a sigh, she looked down. I guess even you can't hide your disappointment forever, huh? She let her eyes fall closed for a moment, thinking back on the expression he wore, before shaking her head. No! I'm not going to let that get me down, I wasn't even supposed to see that. She pulled the corners of her lips back up into a smile before following the boy into the make-shift forest. But, there was a sinking feeling that remained in the pit of her stomach. She couldn't completely wipe away the memory, but she chose to ignore that. For now, at least.
She ran right up behind him before jumping onto his back, legs wrapping securely around his waist. "Hello, brother."

"Whoa!" Emmett exclaimed, startled for a second, and about to ready a defense mode, but it only took a split-second more for him to recognize the unmistakable small form of their little psychic, and he released a good-natured laugh. Out of all of them, she was easily the best at catching people off-guard. She even managed to do it to Eddie, and that was really saying something. Those light feet of hers, it was almost like they never even touched the ground, the way she glided on them.
"Hey there, little monkey," he grinned at her over his shoulder, and reached over to ruffle her already messy hair.
"And, if I'm a monkey, what do you suppose you are?" she asked, her head slightly tilting to the side. Well...he seems alright now, she though to herself. After looking down at him only a moment longer, her smile slightly grew. Good. She internally gave a sigh of relief.
"Hmmm...," Emmett glanced up at that in thought, considering for a moment, before coming to a pretty simple answer. "Probably, like...a gorilla or something?" he threw out, but he gave a quick shake of his head. "Nah, actually, I'd probably be something a little more agile than that, wouldn't I? Maybe a chimp."
Alice gave a small, goodhearted laugh at that, before nodding her head, "Yes, I would definitely say a chimp. Gorillas just aren't graceful enough." She gave him a playful tap on this nose before hopping back to the ground, moving to stand in front of the tall vampire before her. "It's strange... You'd think that if they have the power to turn us into...whatever we are, they'd at least be able to add a few inches," she said him, giving a small wink before a smile took form. She didn't really care, though. She loved being small. She was fun-sized. Portable. And, it was incredibly convenient when it came to the art of escaping and hiding.
Ohh, yeah. He definitely needed that graceful factor. When the tiny vamp hopped off him, he straightened up in his stance, resting one hand leisurely in his pocket and staring down at the little squirt. At her "complaint", though, he let out a playful scoff.
"Psh!" he reached out and patted her once on the head. "Trust me, sis, you don't need to be any taller. You're already such a terror, and look at you!" As he said this, he gave a lazy gesture of his hand, indicating her short stature. Seriously, she really was a force to be reckoned with.
She gaze a small chuckle at his response, her head tilting leisurely to the side, batting her eyelashes. "Well...thank you, Emmett," she responded, mocking his wife's voice before returning to her own. "I know, it's hard to be this small, but still cause so much fear to be felt by my enemies. I do believe I've perfected that talent, though," she gave him a wink before looking around her.
"The other's really are slow, aren't they?" she complained with a sigh before lowering herself to the ground in a lazy criss-cross position. "Even Edward's slow today. He's usually...really fast." She let out a small laugh after she spoke, eyes glancing at the ground, her hand moving to pick at the grass beside her. She really missed Bella. These Volturi weren't nearly as much fun as their little human girl. She'd gotten used to seeing her everyday, it kind of felt like a part of their life was missing. Weird...
Then, of course, her mind took her down a negative track. Esme. No. She rolled her eyes when she thought her name before regaining her smile. This is so not the time. She'd been gone for a long time...Alice just needed to accept the fact that she wasn't coming back. A lot of people left this world, it happened every day. She was probably at peace now, anyways. She didn't need to live like them. Alice was mainly worried about Carlisle, anyways. It was more of a constant worry of hers. Earlier on, of course, she was always checking up on him and everything, but now...it was kinda just there. Unless something bigger came up, but that wasn't a popular occurrence.

Emmett laughed at her little impersonation, she had definitely gotten Rose's tone down, to a "T". Huh...he'd never really thought of it before, but it was kinda funny, the way she would mock Rose wasn't all that different from the way he would mock Jasper. Tsk...Jazzy...he was sure fun to mess with. When she plopped down on the ground, he smiled fondly down at the display, her pulling up wads of grass as she complained over the same thing he had been thinking, not a few seconds before she had up and jumped him.
However, as she sat there a few moments longer, he couldn't ignore the look that was coming over her expression. She was lookin' all downy. Aww...c'mon, not you too, Alice, he thought, internally shaking his head at the sight. This damn place. So much negative energy.
Well, only one thing to do! Counteract it with some positive energy of his own!
Lowering himself to squat on the ground next to the little monster, Emmett proceeded to give her a firm clap on the back. "You're right, he's really slacking," he gave a very dissatisfied shake of his head, at the expense of their speedy brother. With a conspiratorial wink to his sis, he then added, "You and I will just have to give him hell for it, when he finally does get here."

Alice let out a mischievous chuckle at his words before she looked at him, sitting beside her, with a smile, her eyes slightly narrowed."Now we're talking," she said to him before patting her stomach. "I'm a little hungry, though," she said, giving a dramatic sigh. "He will definitely have to pay. There's no way he can get away with this. After all...we're the perfect pair when it comes to these sorts of things. No one can compete with our tag-teaming." She gave him a proud smirk before offering a fist.

"Hell yeah, they can't," Emmett quickly lifted his hand to give her a solid fist-bump. "Not even close," he chuckled. "I almost feel bad for Eddie sometimes." Taking a brief pause for emphasis, he then added with a smirk, "...Almost. Makin' you hungry like this? Makin' us wait? He deserves every last bit of hassle we're gonna give him."
"Oh yeah," she said with a grin before turning her gaze to face the entrance of this place. "I can just see it now..." Her hands raised, doing the 'imagination symbol', or whatever they called it, before she continued talking. "Maybe we could even punish Jasper a little...he knows I'm not the most patient person. He could do a little...disciplining. Maybe I'll just leave him in your hands," she suggested, amusement lacing her voice as she gave him a small wink. "I'm sure he'd love that."
"Oooh," Emmett's mouth spread into a grin at the suggestion, and he wiggled his brow once. "We're talking some serious discipline for Jazzy here, aren't we?" Poor guy, they all knew just how to get to him. "Well," he gave an appreciative bow of his head, "I couldn't be happier, doing the honors."
This was looking to be one seriously fun hunting excursion.

"As well you should. When it comes to Jasper," she paused a moment, to extend that...dramatic effect, "no one can really help being a little excited. He's just soo...fun." Honestly, his reactions to Edward and Emmett's teasing were the best. He just never got used to them, did he? Which, of course, meant they had an unlimited supply of amusement right in front of them. At this point, pretty much everyone knew his weakness.
Walking through the dimply lit underground hall, Edward just stared straight ahead, face impassive and hands held in his pockets. Well, it was time to feed again. He frowned a little as he considered all of the differences this scientifically altered body had brought him. All of the unnatural traits of it. He could no longer eat as humans did, no longer sleep. His skin was solid and nearly unbreakable, and the telepathic powers he'd gained were impossible to switch off or anything. There were times when he felt he would go mad with all the voices.
The one thing he couldn't complain with was the speed though, and he let himself enjoy that completely. Indulging in it like some guilty pleasure. 'And speaking of guilty pleasures...' his thoughts drifted to Bella, the human girl whom he had been resorting to...keeping an eye on since being contained in this lair. She was someone whom had caught his eye before any of this had happened, he'd taken to her like an addict to his favorite drug. He knew it wasn't right, but he'd indulged it anyway. And now, perhaps the fact that he was caged from her was a good turn of events. He deserved this. He would be nothing but a danger to her now. All he could do was watch and make sure she was keeping herself safe, as incredibly accident prone as she was. At least once a day he would go to the surveillance room and check up on her on the monitor.
As he neared the hunting area, Alice and Emmett's thoughts were presented to him, and his frown deepened. His sister was thinking of his mother, and that thought brought with it a profound sadness to him as well. However, he maintained the hope that she had found herself in a much better place than this. As much as he missed her, he would never have wished this for her, or anyone. It was a living hell.
He rolled his eyes then as the pair then threatened to 'give him hell' upon his arrival. He smirked a little at that, the smirk sarcastic and humorless. Right. It was much too late for that. He was already enduring plenty of hell without their efforts. He wasn't really in the mood for their hassling today though, and he inhaled deeply as he prepared himself for it.
Stepping outside, he spotted them and made his way over. "I apologize for the wait," He said in a smooth, measured tone. "hope it wasn't too upsetting."

"No mistakes, I'd promised myself that I would make no mistakes, no matter how minimal they seemed."
Niklaus Mikaelson: Heheh. That is quite the title you've concocted for her ;1 But, you're right, and we are all certainly glad you do it, puting this effort into for us. At least it's productive in some way. You could find yourself wasted also. Then where would we be?

Elijah Mikaelson: I would think in a place he would enjoy.

Damon Salvatore: True, very true there, stiffy ;1 Don't know about the rest of you, but *I'll* be in a place I enjoy.
