Freya Mikaelson
Kol Mikaelson walked briskly down the empty corridors, smirking slightly to himself as he allowed his gaze to wander aimlessly at the various decor scattered throughout his family's castle. He stopped only a moment to inspect one of the new paintings residing along the wall and shook his head at it before moving along again. Nik was at it again, hm? Well, that made for a perfect opportunity to have some fun with his older brother. He could inquire about the inspiration behind the painting, question him about 'why now' and 'is there some secret you're trying to hide there?' Anything would do, really. Whatever question popped into his head at the time of the playful grilling would most likely make it out and, if it annoyed his brother, then he would consider it a success.
Noticing he was arriving at his destination, the Original's smirk widened. But that can wait until later. I have a date with a library overflowing with intriguing knowledge. Pushing the doors open, he let out a contented sigh as he glanced around at the vast collection surrounding him. It was very fortunate that 'Lijah was such a nerd or else all these incredible works may have been lost in the apocalypse.
"The Apocalypse..." Kol's smirk fell as he continued towards a shelf beside the glowing hearth. Five years ago, the End Times had reigned down upon them all and he saw it coming. It was predicted long ago that the raising of a certain immortal being, a being even more powerful than the Originals, would rise and end the world. He had destroyed the earth and nearly every wonder it possessed. He hoped he could one day see it restored, but there wasn't a point dwelling on that at the moment because if he thought of how much he missed the earth's original beauty then his anger would return at Nik for keeping him locked in a box again while the world ended.
Frankly, though, he wasn't in the mood for anger. He would much rather sit beside the warm fire in one of those ridiculously comfy armchairs. Honestly, how did they make them so comfortable? It was one of the many mysteries of the world. Much like the coffee pot resting on the table beside it, an invention he had recently discovered held an immense interest for him. It was...incredible!
The smirk finally returning to its appropriate position, he selected one of the many books from the shelf and sank into the cushions, lazily flicking the coffee pot to 'on' as he did so, before indulging in the words on the pages.
