There was a kind of dampness in the morning air, it had a pleasant chill and all, but Sarah yawned as she strolled tiredly down the street. The sun hadn't really come up yet, so despite it being such a crazy time to even be awake, there was also somethin kind of nice about it. It was quiet, and she could almost bring herself to feel like she was somewhere else. In a past that really didn't even feel real anymore. But, it was kind of difficult to really let that feeling take hold. She was pretty much too aware to just ignore the present or anything. She shivered a little and crossed her arms to try and insulate some warmth from her jacket. It was a struggle, but she just had to take it one day at a time. She just had to deal with it, because there really wasn't a way to change any of it. There wasn't a point to spend too much time thinking about it. Lifting her eyes to the little place up the street, she hurried her pace just a little. The sooner she took care of this, the sooner she could get back to bed. Or, at least try to. But, that was the whole point of this anyway. This was like one of the only places that opened this early too, so that was pretty cool. Entering the building and looking to the older warlock behind the counter, Sarah smiled tiredly and lifted her hand in a lazy half-wave, before heading straight towards the shelf she frequented most.

It's cold was the first thought Aaron had as he wandered down that particular street. He mentally scolded himself, regretting his decision to leave the house without grabbing a jacket first. He didn't even think. He didn't sleep well last night, it was really early in the morning, and he had wandered to a deserted part of the quarter without even realizing it. Damn him and his emo mind. If it wasn't for him being so moody when he woke up, then he wouldn't be out here, cold and alone. Well, he was alone anyway. He lived alone in that house unit, with some pots and pans from his uncle, but that wasn't the point. He needed to get home and maybe try to get some more sleep, but first he was cold and needed to get warm. Soon. This could get serious. He was already shivering.
Lifting his gaze, Aaron's eyes widened as he spotted a store in front of him. He nodded decisively and trudged into the apothecary. He was greeted by the sound of a bell and he shook his head. This place is so weird. Looking around, he noticed the store was filled with lots of things he'd never seen before. Since he was trying to warm up, he could look around. He might find something nice somewhere.
However, he spotted a girl he sort of recognized from around the city already perusing the store. Oh... his gaze fell. This could get awkward really fast. He wasn't good at talking to people. He already felt warmer then before so maybe it would be better if he just left. Yeah...and he could get home faster that way too. Good idea.
He slowly started backing out of the store.

Having reached for the bottle of sleep meds, Sarah instinctively turned to the door when she heard those bells jingle. The curiosity on her face cleared or whatever when she saw that it was the boy she'd sort of nicknamed as 'the lurker', because she'd noticed he had a habit of randomly turning up in places, but then not really talking to anyone. She supposed she kinda did the same, but he always looked so...uncomfortable with it. So out of place. Hell, then again, maybe she looked a little uncomfortable to other people too. She smirked a little, maybe not quite to his extent though.
But then her brows furrowed when his face suddenly looked all alarmed as he noticed her and started backing towards the door. It was really hard for her not to feel very amused by that. 'Oh yeah, totally uncomfortable,' she thought as she fought a smile. Was he really about just leave after coming over here at this ungodly hour?
She really didn't interact much with other people anymore, but after hanging with Matt the other night, she'd realized how much she'd missed it. And it'd been even longer since she'd been able to sort of indulge teasing someone a little. This lurker kid would be sort of perfect, and hey, maybe it'd do him some good. Maybe he also just needed someone to talk to.
As he continued stepping back, eyes looking anywhere but at her, Sarah slowly walked over, tilting her head, "with a face like that, looks like you've just seen a ghost or something." Her smirk widened, "I promise I'm not that scary."

Oh, no! She approached me! Aaron's mind went into full-blown panic mode for all of two seconds before his dumbstruck expression fell into a discouraged frown. There wasn't any point trying to get out of it now. She had noticed him and now he would have to talk to her. Maybe she would get disinterested, though. He didn't feel like talking.
The Whitmore heir shrugged jerkily. "How do you know? You don't know how scary some people think you are."
...that was stupid.

Sarah felt a smile trying to force its way onto her face. And just that need to smile felt awesome. What a strange guy. She had to remember to thank him for this. For sort of lightening the mood or whatever. She couldn't help but feel pretty appreciative of him. "Hm, I didn't think of that," she answered honestly, stopping a few feet away as she noticed how tense he seemed. She didn't want to push it or anything. He looked like he might turn and bolt out the door any second. And, even if he looked like that wasn't what he'd wanted to say, he had a point. People didn't always realize how they came across. Maybe it was also true. Maybe he was a little scared of her. Looked like it anyway.
"I guess I could just say that you don't really have a reason to be scared of me," she revised, nodding to him. "But, I gotta say, that's the first time anyone's actually said that to me. That I might be scary." Her expression turned kind of thoughtful. It was interesting.

Aaron shook his head. Oh, no...did he say something wrong? "Sorry! I didn't mean to be so rude when I said that," he apologized, hanging his head. "I just get weird around people. I guess I'm a little scared of everyone."

Sarah felt a little guilty then at his reaction. Maybe she'd taken the teasing a little too far. He seemed pretty sensitive. A little paranoid too. Deciding it was probably safe to continue towards the guy, she stepped forward. "Hey," she smiled, determined to assure him. "I didn't think it was rude. It was just sort of interesting." Her smile widened a little, "I mean, it was kinda funny, and something I actually sort of appreciated."
