Luke Parker
Father River stood before his table, preparing the tea for his weekly session with the young Luke Parker. Admittedly, in the beginning how helpful he could be to the boy, but over time these appointments proved extremely productive. He even developed a fondness for the young man. He was just like any other person struggling with something they had no control over. The Lord worked in mysterious ways and who was he to question the will of God? All he could do was mediate and offer aid where he could. He provided a listening ear, guidance, and tea for Luke. It seemed to do the trick.
Setting the kettle down on the tabletop, the fresh picked peppermint leaves already steeping, he placed two cups beside it and sat himself in his usual seat. In three minutes, the counseling would begin. Luke hasn't been late so far. Let's see if he can keep that up he thought to himself, chuckling at his own joke.
