Matt stared back at her a moment. He wasn't really sure what it was, but something about the way she looked at him, it was so...engaging. It wasn't hard to get a little caught up in the moment, when she was around, when she was looking at him. But, when she broke eye contact, he made a quick return to reality, and he gave her a nod in reply.
"Sure thing," he told her. "One Tropical Ecstasy, comin' right up."
He walked to the back shelf and got all the fixings together, before putting it together in a martini shaker and mixing it. As he continued shaking it in one hand, he grabbed a cocktail glass in the other and set it on a coaster on the bar in front of Rebekah. He then poured the contents into the glass in front of her, added the creme de coconut and topped it off with a cherry.
"There you go, Bekah," he said with an easy smile.
"Everyone's special in their own way, and then there's just me."

Rebekah's eyes followed his movements as he worked on her cocktail. He really knows what he's doing, doesn't he? she internally mused. When he added the creme on to the drink, a small smile drifted to her lips. After he finished it off with a cherry, she sat up straight in her chair before bringing a hand to the glass in front of her. "This looks absolutely delicious," she complimented, eyes analyzing the contents in her hand. It was a wonderful greenish-blueish color, soft on the eyes. "What was that creme you added in at the end there? Coconut?"
"I want a home. I want a family. I want someone to love me, and I want to live."

She felt his eyes on her as she brought the glass to her lips, tilting it slightly to test the drink. Right as the liquid hit her tongue, a rough sweetness filled her mouth. "That is absolutely delicious," she said to him with a slight smile as she set that glass back on the countertop. "Not at all unexpected from you, though. Everything I have here is delicious."
"I want a home. I want a family. I want someone to love me, and I want to live."

"Well, I'm happy you think so," Matt replied. Yeah, she definitely looked like she'd enjoyed it. "I'd hate to let one of my most esteemed customers down."
"Everyone's special in their own way, and then there's just me."

"Yes, well...insulting one of the family is against the rules, remember?" she said to him, her smile fading just a little. Such a ridiculous rule. Really, was Klaus that insecure? Pushing any other thoughts from her mind, though, she continued. "I'd say making a disappointing drink would count as an insult. At least...I just might take it as one," she gave him a small smirk as she spoke, putting on a more lighthearted tone.
"I want a home. I want a family. I want someone to love me, and I want to live."
"Ooh," the man set down the mixer then, giving a slight shake of his head as he walked back to the counter. "Who would've thought that my skill at makin' drinks would actually cost me that much? I mean...breaking your brother's rules? That's a little scary."
"Everyone's special in their own way, and then there's just me."

"I don't blame you," she mumbled under her breath as she, once again, lifted the glass to sip at it. She didn't really know if he was being serious or not, but...honestly, the last person you wanted to cross was Niklaus Mikaelson. He felt it was a...personal insult, going against his rules. That being said, whenever someone did oppose him...well, he didn't take to it very kindly. His punishment...was gauged based on how betrayed he felt, really. He really wasn't the best leader, not with how erratic his emotions were. If he was angry...when he got angry, he took very extreme measures to ensure the cause of his anger was dealt with, tenfold.
"I want a home. I want a family. I want someone to love me, and I want to live."
Matt watched, silently, as the woman's stare grew distant. It was in times like these, when she had that far-off look on her face, one that was almost ageless, that he could really feel the difference between the two of them, the distance. Her age, her years on this earth were really showing. Her tone sounded so different than it had a second ago, when she was making a joke, with that lighthearted air in her voice. Now, it just sounded...well, a little scared, honestly. Cautious, even, like she was trying to warn him or something.
"Hey," he said, in attempt to break her out of whatever reverie she was lost in, and he reached his hand over the counter to let it rest gently on her shoulder. With a reassuring smile, he told her, "No worries, though. Lucky for us, I'm never been much of a rule-breaker. And, besides, as long as neither one of us goes snitching, how would your crazed family ever even know?"
"Everyone's special in their own way, and then there's just me."
Niklaus Mikaelson: Heheh. That is quite the title you've concocted for her ;1 But, you're right, and we are all certainly glad you do it, puting this effort into for us. At least it's productive in some way. You could find yourself wasted also. Then where would we be?
