"Yeah, it is...in a way," Decimus replied, though it was admittedly a little frightening too. Another look of thoughtfulness came over him, "but, you know, maybe it isn't so literal as that. Maybe...those three days mean this entire period of time, where we are actually ruled by those creatures."
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
"Perhaps," Alexander allowed, reclining in his chair and resting his head against his closed fist. It was true that, while the demons ruled above, those who would bring good to the world had been forced into hiding. "I did consider that, but, if that is the case, then the number three must still represent something. And it can't be three years, because that dreadful family has already held dominion for a good five years, now."
"When my Brotherhood has achieved its destiny, those monsters will cease to exist."

Decimus nodded, though he didn't really have any idea what the number three could represent. It was possible, also, that his theory was misguided. However, it did also seem as if it could match up. "Maybe...something along the lines of this Utopian society? A period where, unified like this, we are in darkness, and only through breaking that unity apart, can we finally come out of this."
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
After listening to Decimus' explanation, Alexander's brow furrowed in confusion. "But what does that have anything to do with three, and its significant as some sort of temporal unit?"
"When my Brotherhood has achieved its destiny, those monsters will cease to exist."

Decimus exhaled loudly and nodded in agreement, "yeah, I know." He really wasn't the most patient person, but he was really struggling to be here. The day just couldn't arrive soon enough. He drummed his fingers on the table and looked towards the entrance to the room, wondering where the others were.
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."

Jeremy's head hung slightly as he walked down the dim corridor. There were lots of scuff marks on the floor. Probably 'cause the hideout was so old. Ancient was probably a better word. Everything about the Hunters was ancient, actually. Ancient witch leading them, ancient mission to destroy vampires, and an ancient desire to hunt them without remorse. No matter who they were. It really sucked. He totally got the hunter thing. He was itching to kick some vampire ass and the guys here were pretty great...but this place was freaking lonely too.
He sighed. I miss Elena. His sister and her stalker boyfriend were some of the creatures he was destined to kill. When he was around them, every nerve in his body ached to drive a stake through their hearts...but that was still Elena and Stefan. That was still the person who took care of him when he was an emotional wreck after they lost their parents. She was all he had left. Her and Bonnie...who was also back in that vampire infested city. Maybe...maybe there could be a way to get them out safely. Like before everything went down...it was worth a shot. He could probably train to control the whole 'kill vampires' thing. Yeah...he just had to work in it.
Set with a new-found resolve, the young Gilbert boy approached the meeting room. Stepping into it, he noticed that Decimus and Alexander were already there. "Oh, damn. Am I late again?" he asked to no one in particular, shaking his head at himself as he approached his seat next to Decimus. "'Sup, guys?"
"You're kidding me, right? There's no such thing as vampires."

"Hey, Jeremy," Decimus said as he looked over. He offered him a shrug, "and you're not technically late yet. Qetsiyah hasn't come yet." He motioned to her chair, "as you can see." He then stretched his arms over his head, still trying to ward off the drowsiness. "You doing okay today?"
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
At the arrival of the other hunter, Alexander looked over to him and offered a simple smile in greeting. It was true, Jeremy was often late for these things, but, as Decimus had pointed out, this was not one such occasion. They were only technically late if they arrived after Lady Qetsiyah. Besides that, they were still waiting on Vaughn. Plenty of time before they needed to begin.
"Hello, Jeremy," the older hunter said only.
"When my Brotherhood has achieved its destiny, those monsters will cease to exist."

Jeremy lifted a hand in a wave to both of them. "Hey, hey," he nodded to each of them in turn. Looking back at Decimus, though, he shrugged. "Yeah, I'm doin' alright. Even better now that I'm not late," he smirked, crossing his arms and leaning back in his chair.
"You're kidding me, right? There's no such thing as vampires."

"Accomplishment of the day, is it?" Decimus asked with a slight smirk of his own. Out of all of them, he seemed the least...motivated about all of this. Of course, they were all driven, but there was just something...off. And he couldn't really place his finger on what it was.
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
Niklaus Mikaelson: Heheh. That is quite the title you've concocted for her ;1 But, you're right, and we are all certainly glad you do it, puting this effort into for us. At least it's productive in some way. You could find yourself wasted also. Then where would we be?

Elijah Mikaelson: I would think in a place he would enjoy.

Damon Salvatore: True, very true there, stiffy ;1 Don't know about the rest of you, but *I'll* be in a place I enjoy.
