I don't know how to describe my feelings as of late. Five years have passed since the apocalypse struck, leaving ruin
and fear in its wake. This city the Originals built is a gift, but also a curse. It keeps us from harm, protects the surviving
humans and grants us with food so we don't starve...but it's not the perfect blessing anyone desires. Our freedom
is being restrained. We're held here against our will; the promise of blood the only chain linking us to this evil family. I
wish I could be as reckless and fearless as my brother, but I can't wander in the wilderness without a set direction
and the structure of a city. That only emits chaos. Something my brother is infamous for. My second wish is for him to
see the error in his current ways and will find his way back into the safety of the city. His plans of sneaking blood and
stealing are going to be the end of us all. He'll be caught and I'll be held accountable for aiding him. I don't want that.
I like my job at the blood bank. This is a fresh start for me. Damon can't ruin another one. It's the end of the world. I
should be allowed one final, lasting restart on my life. My brother doesn't understand this, though. He's too set in his
ways. Enough about Damon, though. He's a lost cause until he comes around. My final, third wish is for Elena, my
girlfriend. She still struggles with her vampire form and the unfairness of it all. She wanted to live a normal human life
with children and a family. I wish she could have it, but that one is impossible so I won't even believe in it. Instead, I'll
help her. I'm in a better state with my Ripper cravings so I feel like I can do this. I can control the monster within.
