Qetsiyah's purposeful steps echoed through the halls as she made her way to the training room, Alexander following closely behind. Her devoted Hunters always made the most of their free time, making their way to the combat room at least once every day. However, when Alexander interrupted her in the middle of research to ask of her a favor, she couldn't say she was necessarily pleased, but she supposed it couldn't be helped. They always needed her for assistance and guidance, and it was as if they were her soldiers. It was her duty to help them when the situation called for it. She just wished they might learn to try more on their own. Again though, nothing could really be done about that. At least they weren't reckless, getting themselves killed because they didn't ask for assistance when they were in dire need. She preferred that to the alternative.
Nonetheless, Alexander hadn't informed her of what exactly they needed from her, so when she finally stepped into the large, round area, finding Decimus standing there aimlessly, she asked them with a stoic expression, "What is it, you two?"
After following his ladyship back to the large, open training room, Alexander took it upon himself to provide an explanation. She had seemed rather irritated when he had first requested her assistance, clearly in the middle of her own form of training, as he had correctly anticipated, but she had conceded nonetheless. Of course, nothing less could be expected of Lady Qetsiyah. She always did put the well-being of her subordinates before her own, proving herself not only a perfectly capable, but also gracious leader in all of their eyes. However short she may appear with them, there was not a doubt in the hunter's mind that she truly cared deeply, for all of them.
"Decimus had a marvelous idea, my lady," Alexander began, gesturing toward his brother as he did so. "Would it be possible for you to enchant the targets in this room, so they move? We believe it will improve the quality of our training, the more realistic we can make it, and therefore better prepare us when we come face-to-face with our enemies."
"When my Brotherhood has achieved its destiny, those monsters will cease to exist."

Decimus turned when they entered, letting his hand fall to his side, stake held loosely within it. They'd returned sooner than he thought. He looked silently from Alexander to Qetsiyah as she just listened to the man's explanation. He couldn't quite tell if she was happy to be here, but at least she didn't seem to mind.
He nodded in agreement with what Alexander had said, "anything to help really prepare us would be best, I think. Do you mind?"
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
Enchant the targets to make them move?, she thought to herself as she tilted her head slightly to the side, a small smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. So they want a more realistic training experience...they really are so devoted, aren't they?. She couldn't really blame them. If she were in their shoes, she might have done exactly the same things. Targets that simply stand there, waiting for you to kill them...well, it's true, that isn't very realistic at all.
"No, I don't mind at all, Decimus," she said to the man, making her way to the wall behind the targets. "It really is an excellent idea. Now, would you like me to count to three, or should I surprise you?"

Decimus watched as Qetsiyah positioned herself behind the targets and smirked a little in anticipation as his grip again tightened around the stake in his hand.
"Well," he replied, "if we're going for a more realistic approach," his eyes gleamed with excitement. "Surprise me."
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
Qetsiyah let out a small chuckle at his reply, "Somehow, I just knew you'd say that." She looked at him for another moment before lifting her hand. "When you're going up against vampires," she focused on the dummy before her, "...you have to anticipate their every move. Before they even think of it." and snapped her fingers. It disappeared in an instant, before it was silently placed behind the blonde.

Decimus had been watching Qetsiyah intently, eyeing the dummy, readying his weapon. What she was saying made sense, but predicting the movements of anyone, especially a vampire, was incredibly difficult. When she snapped her fingers, he tensed, still staring ahead, expecting movement. However, as the dummy appeared behind him, his eyes widened. Well, she had certainly surprised him. He turned with the stake and hit his target, but knew that it was too slow to be at all effective in a real scenario. He hadn't predicted it.
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
Qetsiyah wasn't at all surprised at the widening of his eyes, but if this was a real scenario...he might already be dead. When he lifted his stake to the target, she tore the weapon from his grip with a flick of her hand before bringing it back to hold it in her own. "Dead." She walked leisurely back up to the Hunter as she spoke, "Vampires are faster than you, stronger than you, and more experienced than you. They've been in this situation hundreds of times. You can't afford to be surprised by the unexpected." With a twirl of the stake, she held the grip out for him to take. "Even a millisecond too late could mean your demise. Try again."

Decimus felt a brief wave of dejection and defeat, before he replaced it with determination. He could do this. No, he had to do this. He looked to her, let that determination take him as it burned through his eyes. He nodded and grasped the stake again. The one time he'd killed a vampire, it was after the creature had murdered his family. He'd been a rage, burning with vengeance. He'd caught if off guard. It hadn't seen him coming. But, that surprise tactic wouldn't work in a battle situation.
"This is going to take some work," he admitted to her.
"And so through all my pain and tears I'm still holding onto those years."
Alexander watched on in silence as his newest brother began his practice, and, when Lady Qetsiyah caught him by surprise, by moving the target behind him, the man gave a brief, assenting nod. Yes, he had certainly encountered such movements himself from those demons, on more than one occasion. As creatures of the night, they did seem quite fond of using those more stealthy tactics. They would spring out of nowhere, catch you at unawares, try to rip into you from behind. They fought like cowards, the lot of them, and only through understanding such a mindset, a mindset in which there was not a thing they wouldn't stoop to...only then could you truly prepare yourself to face them.
When Decimus failed to anticipate her, her ladyship spoke in harsh, critical words to him. However, she was playing precisely the role that they needed. They needed someone to push them, to continuously and closely critique where they had most need of improvement. She was harsh because she wanted them to be harsh. It was the only way she could keep them alive.
"True, it will," the hunter agreed, in response to the remark made by his sworn brother. "However, it is only ever through hard work and dedication that any of us can ever hope to improve, to achieve victory. I'm sure you'll get the knack for it before long."
"When my Brotherhood has achieved its destiny, those monsters will cease to exist."
She was aware Decimus had directed that comment to her, but when Alexander intervened just before she had the chance to respond, she felt a little annoyed. But, at the same time, she supposed she didn't care. Her response would most likely have been something along those lines. Without speaking further, she walked back to her position from before and turned to face the pair, waiting a moment to see if the blonde would grace the larger man with a response.

Niklaus Mikaelson: Heheh. That is quite the title you've concocted for her ;1 But, you're right, and we are all certainly glad you do it, puting this effort into for us. At least it's productive in some way. You could find yourself wasted also. Then where would we be?
